Community Lunchbox

Community Lunchbox

The Community Lunchbox is an ecumenical venture formed in 1994 by St. Luke’s Deacon, Julianna Caguiat. The Lunchbox is held at St Luke’s and operates twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Its mission is to provide nutritious meals to people who might not otherwise have such meals and to provide an opportunity for fellowship and social interchange to those same people. Each team of volunteers is responsible for preparing and serving food one day a month. Lunchbox receives funding from several local organizations, both religious and secular. The Lunchbox Board is from the community at large, and its 42 volunteers from around the community work in ten teams comprised of cook, assistant cook, set-up/servers, and dishwasher.
